Hermitage worker finds 100-year-old candy in a Romanov dress

A restorer working at The Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg has found a sweet surprise while working on a Romanov gown. Galina Fedorova, a worker in the Laboratory of Scientific Tissue Restoration, is working on a 1903 gown and discovered a piece of candy in the pocket. The Queen's Medal for Poetry recognises popular artist

Her Majesty’s Gold Medal for Poetry has been awarded for 2021 to Grace Nichols, a Guyanese poet who moved to Britain in 1977. Nichols’ first poetry collection, I Is a Long-Memoried Woman, was published in 1983 and won the Commonwealth Poetry Prize. Aiko, Princess Toshi, the daughter of Japanese Emperor Naruhito, will reach the age of maturity on her twentieth birthday on 1 December 2022. In the following days, she will take part in specific ceremonies and will start attending public engagements with her parents.
