John Bercow has been re-elected to the
office of Speaker of the House of Commons unopposed, despite
rumours some MPs might try and force a Speaker’s Election. In the
now traditional manner, Mr Bercow was dragged from the Commons
backbenches to the Speaker’s Chair by the 54-year-old’s supporters.
Father of the House, Ken Clarke, moved the motion that Mr
Bercow is re-elected…
The Queen’s Speech has been

Will Her Majesty be absent from The Queen's Speech?
12th June 2017
It has been confirmed that this year’s
Queen’s Speech has been delayed by a few days due to the
Conservative Party failing to reach an agreement with Northern
Ireland’s DUP. If an agreement cannot be made, then it is

Charlie Proctor: The Queen will be livid with the government if she is forced to miss Royal Ascot
12th June 2017
It never ceases to amaze me how things
can go from relatively calm to scenes of chaos within a matter of
minutes. I should imagine that the same situation unfolded in
Buckingham Palace this morning when Her Majesty found out that she
might have to miss Royal Ascot due to the government postponing The
Queen’s Speech. Theresa May’s government has not yet reached a deal
with Northern…

The Queen accepts Mrs…
So we have a Hung Parliament - what happens next?
9th June 2017
When the exit poll was revealed on
Thursday evening, it was an unexpected surprise, to say the least.
It is the result that the Conservatives were dreading and others
were hoping for. Theresa May’s gamble didn’t pay off and it might
have lost her the keys to Number 10…
Senior Conservative Ministers have said
this morning that they do not expect to outperform the exit poll
which predicts there will a Hung Parliament. Labour have gained
many seats from the Conservatives at this stage in the counting,
and have ousted Tory heavyweights…
As voting booths across the United
Kingdom close, it can be revealed that no party is expected to
command a majority in the House of Commons, meaning there will be a
Hung Parliament. The exit poll conducted by the BBC and Sky
suggests that Theresa May will lose her majority with Labour
gaining seats. However, no party is expected to achieve the minimum
326 seats that The Queen requires for a…
