Kensington Palace has revealed a new photograph of the Duke of Cambridge with his three children in honour of Father’s Day and just a few days ahead of the Duke of Cambridge’s 40th birthday.
The image was taken in Jordan in the autumn of 2021 and features doting father Prince William with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Prince George, 8, and Princess Charlotte, 7, sit at their father’s side while laughing. Prince Louis, 4, smiles while sitting on his father’s shoulders.
The Cambridge family took a holiday to Jordan in the autumn of 2021 and visited the city of Petra, a historic town in southern Jordan, during their stay. The family’s Christmas card photo was also from the Jordanian holiday.
Jordan is well-known to the Cambridge family. The Duchess of Cambridge spent some of her childhood in the country while her father, Michael Middleton, worked as a British Airways flight dispatcher. The family resided in Amman during that time.
The Duke of Cambridge also paid an official visit to the country in 2018 during a tour of Jordan, Israel and Palestine.
At that time, William spoke about his wife’s time living in Jordan, “My wife Catherine is very sorry she cannot be here with me so soon after the birth of our son Louis, but her family remembers very fondly the almost three years she spent here as a child when her father worked for British Airways in Amman.
“Catherine’s experience is not unique – the interchange between our two countries is real and deep: work, study, tourism and family links. Our historic ties and friendship are played out in the lives of thousands of people who consider both countries home.”
It is an exciting time for the Cambridge family as the Duke is set to mark his 40th birthday on 21 June.
