It is that time of year again when we come together to remember those who have sacrificed their lives as so we may live in peace. The Royal Family always makes sure that they are out in full force, filling a busy schedule of ceremonies and events.
On 10 November, The Duke of Edinburgh will be joined by his grandson, Prince Harry at the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey. The Duke of Edinburgh is a Life Member of the Royal British Legion. In November 1928, the Field of Remembrance was first held in the grounds of Westminster Abbey. Their Royal Highnesses will “each lay a Cross of Remembrance in front of two wooden crosses from the Graves of Unknown British Soldiers from the First and Second World Wars.”
On the same day, the Duke of Cambridge will see the Willesden New Cemetery to view the work of Living Memory, a Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) initiative.
Prince William, President of Fields in Trust, will also visit the Kensington Memorial Park on 10 November to officially mark the dedication of the Kensington Memorial Park by the Royal Borough of London & Chelsea to the Centenary Fields programme.
The following day, 11 November, the Armistice Day service at the Armed Forces Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum, Staffordshire will see Prince Harry in attendance.
Saturday 12 November will be the annual Royal Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall. The Queen and other Members of the Royal Family (yet to be announced) will be joining.
The final day of the weekend, 13 November, Her Majesty and unannounced Members of the Royal Family will lay wreaths at The Cenotaph. The Prince of Wales will also take the Salute at the March Past of Veteran and Civilian Organisations on Horse Guards Parade.
After the Horse Guards Parade, Prince Charles, Colonel, Welsh Guards will join in a service at the Guards’ Chapel and take part in a wreath laying at the Guards’ Memorial for the Welsh Guards Regimental.
Most people in the World hate war forever on this planet. I have many people known and unknown to pray for, as I am certain the Queen and Prince Phillip will do. I especially appreciate the three crosses at one place of remembrance. When I pray in Church, I frequently light three candles in memory of the what happened to the Lords only begotten son Jesus Christ our Lord.
what love about the Royals they take this very seriously remembrance day that their show of love for those that have lost their lives is so tangibly felt its a wonderful display of unconditional love
