Last night, Her Majesty hosted King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain at Buckingham Palace for the State Banquet part of the Spanish State Visit.

The younger senior Royals held their ground, with Prince Harry attending his first ever State Banquet and the Duchess of Cambridge stealing the show in the Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara, pearl earring that are thought to be from Diana, Princess of Wales private jewellery collection and the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Bandeau Necklace- a necklace on loan from The Queen completing her pale pink Marchesa gown. One of the Duchess’s more risky looks with the plunging neckline.

Guests of honour, Queen Letizia stunned in a red gown by Spanish fashion house Loewe and a sky-high tiara which once was the wedding present from King Alfonso XIII to his wife, Princess Victoria Eugenie.

Queen Elizabeth, Princess Anne and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex all chose to wear aquamarine gems.

Before the banquet, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall hosted King Felipe and Queen Letizia at Clarence House for tea. The Duchess of Cornwall wore what is seeming to be her favourite tiara, the Boucheron Greville and debuting the Snowflake Earrings by Van Cleef and Arpels.

Prince Harry is taking a larger role this State Visit, attending both the State Banquet last night and accompanying the Spanish Royal couple to lay a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Solider today before King Felipe meets with Theresa May.

This is expected to be the last State Visit for the Duke of Edinburgh before he retires in the autumn.

Both Queen Elizabeth and King Felipe addressed the guests, Her Majesty’s speech can be read here.
