The Royal Week in Pictures

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit

It has been a mixed week on the royal front. The families of Scandinavia are returning to duties while other dynasties continue their summer breaks in a time when no one knows how the regal autumn will look. Here’s the royal week just past, in pictures.

Mary’s Masks

The Crown Princess of Denmark shared selfies of herself in masks as she urged everyone else to use face coverings. Mary is back to work after her summer break but during one engagement, she forgot herself and shook hands with someone before realising her mistake. Her candid Instagram post was a mea culpa as well as an appeal.

Back to Work in Sweden

Two more royals reopening the work diary this week were Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden. There was plenty of social distancing going on as they carried out a series of engagements showing their support for their country’s hospitality industry.

Happy Families

Memories of sunny days were at the forefront of the Norwegian Royal Family’s minds as they prepared to leave the holiday season behind. The royals shared photos of them having a happy time together during their break on their official Instagram along with a snap of the Crown Prince and Crown Princess which was added again later in the week to mark Mette-Marit’s 47th birthday.

Growing up fast

There were more royal birthday wishes in Belgium where the ultra tall Prince Gabriel wisely sat down for a photo marking his 17th celebrations. The prince, born on August 20th 2003, is second in line to the throne and at least a foot taller than anyone else in the family.

And that’s the royal week, in pictures.
