Monaco’s Princely Family cheers South Africa to victory in rugby World Cup semi-final

The Princely Family of Monaco cheered South Africa to victory on Sunday in their game against Wales.

Princess Charlene, a South African native, shared an image on her official Instagram account of her husband, Prince Albert and their twins, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella at the game.

The Princess said, “BIG GAME TODAY!!! Wishing both teams the best of luck,” with a clover and kissing face emojis.

Both of the four-year-old twins were holding South African flags in the snap.

The post has garnered over 15,000 likes (including Prince Albert’s eldest child and Charlene’s stepdaughter Jazmin Grimaldi) and over 200 comments.

South Africa won the game 19-16 to reach the final against England. They will play on 2 November in International Stadium Yokohama, Yokohama, Japan.

England advanced the final on Saturday after defeating New Zealand 19-7. New Zealand and Wales will face off for third place on 11 November.

The 2019 Rugby World Cup has been hosted by Japan.

In Britain, the Duke of Cambridge is the Patron of Welsh Rugby Union, and he tweeted a message of support to the Welsh team after their defeat by South Africa. He hailed their performance as ”heroic” and praising the leadership of captain, Alun Wyn Jones, before adding ” you can all hold your heads high from an incredible tournament, we’re all so proud of you. W”.

There have been some reports that the Duke of Sussex, Patron of England Rugby Union, may travel to Japan to watch the final, but nothing has been confirmed. There is always the possibility that William will go too as Wales will now face New Zealand in the third-place playoff.
