Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark has shared his twins, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, ‘s tribute to Ukraine on social media.
The Crown Prince and his 11-year-old twins travelled to the Ukrainian Embassy in Copenhagen to lay flowers down in tribute before they went to school.
Crown Prince Frederik wrote on Instagram: “It is infinitely sad what we are experiencing in Europe right now, and it is heartbreaking to follow the situation in Ukraine. My family and I are deeply touched by the pictures and stories that we witness daily. It makes a very big impression. Fortunately, we can also tell our children about the unity that the rest of Europe and the world community are showing the Ukrainian people, and about the great relief work that is going on. It is important that we maintain hope and sharing the good that is happening in the midst of all the cruelty. Before school starts this morning, my youngest children and I made our way past the Ukrainian embassy. On behalf of my family, I send my warmest thoughts to the Ukrainian people.”
The Danish royals are just some of several royals from across Europe who have expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people after Russia invaded the country on 24 February.
