King Charles appoints Queen Camilla to the Order of the Thistle

The King has appointed The Queen as a member of the Order of the Thistle. The Order is the highest honour in Scotland. Queen Camilla is now one of sixteen knights of the Order. His Majesty appointed Her Majesty on June 16th 2023 with immediate effect. The Order of the Thistle was established under statutory foundation in 1687, during the reign of King James II (James VII in Scotland).
