Prince of Wales receives congratulatory message from Crown Prince of Bahrain

Prince William has received a congratulatory message from the Crown Prince of Bahrain and the country’s Prime Minister in honour of William’s appointment as the Prince of Wales.

The Crown Prince highlighted the deep ties between Bahrain and the United Kingdom. He added that Bahrain, under the leadership of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, will continue to deepen the relationship between the royal families and the two nations.

According to the Bahrain Embassy, the Crown Prince also “expressed his best wishes of success to HRH The Prince of Wales on his duties, continuing his great work in empowering the British people to achieving their aspirations.”

Prince William was made Prince of Wales by his father, King Charles III, during the latter’s first speech as monarch on Friday, 9 September.

The Prince of Wales title is the traditional title held by the British heir to the throne. However, the title is not automatic and has to be bestowed on the heir by the monarch.

William’s first public remarks in his new role were to honour his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and the legacy she left behind.

He said, in part, that “I … have lost a grandmother. And while I will grieve her loss, I also feel incredibly grateful. I have had the benefit of The Queen’s wisdom and reassurance into my fifth decade.”

He concluded by saying he would “honour her memory by supporting my father, The King, in every way I can.”
