The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall wrapped up their week-long visit to New Zealand on Saturday with Charles set to visit the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu and Camilla heading back to London.
Their day began in Christchurch where they visited the Lincoln Farmers and Craft Market, which supports local farmers and artisans. Charles signed the cast of a young boy in the crowd before departing for Kaikoura on South Island, which was the location of a devastating earthquake in 2016.
There, the Prince received a traditional Maori greeting at the Takahanga Marae before meeting with some of the first responders who helped out in the aftermath of the earthquake.
He also visited Kaikoura Memorial Hall to meet with two llamas named Legend and Max, who give rides to townspeople.

“When I knew he was visiting, I had to make sure I chose the best llamas from a characteristic and placidity point of view. I was very impressed by how much he knew about them, too.”

His final engagement in New Zealand was a coastal walk, which lasted about 30 minutes, along the coastline of Kaikoura.
Meanwhile, Camilla paid a visit to the Battered Women’s Trust, a domestic violence shelter that supports women and families in all aspects of rebuilding their lives following abuse.
She was presented with a Refuge Diamond Pin, which is only given to people who have supported and helped out with the movement to end domestic violence.
Her final engagement of the tour was a visit to the Botanic Gardens in Christchurch.
Prince Charles will continue on to visit the Solomon Islands while the Duchess of Cornwall returns to London. He will wrap up his visit on Monday.
