The Countess of Wessex speaks out on Queen’s achievement in her Platinum Jubilee year

Sophie, Countess of Wessex

The Countess of Wessex has said that The Queen should be ”really proud of what she’s achieved” as celebrations for the Platinum Jubilee continue.

Questioned by reporters as she arrived at the United Nations Commonwealth Day reception during her recent visit to the United States, Sophie also confirmed that The Queen was well following recent health issues including a bout of coronavirus.

Asked by Noel Phillips of Good Morning Britain whether The Queen was excited for the Jubilee, Sophie replied ”yes, absolutely, I think it’s going to be very busy”.

The Countess added that the Jubilee was ”absolutely crucial, I think it represents The Queen’s life’s work and I think she should be really proud of what she’s achieved. It’s wonderful. It’s always good to catch up with our Commonwealth friends.”

The Earl and Countess of Wessex will head to the Caribbean in April for a series of visits which will take them to Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, St Lucia, and St Vincent and the Grenadines between April 22nd and April 28th 2022.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently undertaking the first Platinum Jubilee tour, arriving in Belize on March 19th and heading on to Jamaica and the Bahamas.
