King Harald tests positive for Covid

King Harald of Norway has tested positive for coronavirus.

The Norwegian Royal Court confirmed that the king, who is 85, has the virus on the morning of Tuesday March 22nd 2022.

In a statement, it was stated that King Harald tested positive on March 22nd. The monarch is experiencing mild symptoms and will take sick leave for several days as well as observing all necessary isolation measures.

Crown Prince Haakon will take over the king’s constitutional duties.

King Harald made several public appearances in the past few days as he attended the skiing World Cup in Holmenkollen.
