The reign of the new King is now under way – long live The King

The King’s reign has begun.

The death of Her Majesty The Queen, on September 8th 2022, brings to an end the rule of Elizabeth II and starts the reign of her eldest son who is now His Majesty The King.

The formal accession council will take place in London on September 9th 2022.

His Majesty will remain at Balmoral Castle overnight, before returning to London in the morning.

The King’s regnal name has not yet been revealed.

The Queen is dead, long live The King.
