King Charles says he’s ‘moved beyond measure’ by outpouring of support after Queen Elizabeth II’s death

King Charles III has said a very public thank you for the support he and the Royal Family have received following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

In a simple and heartfelt statement just hours before the funeral of Her Late Majesty, The King said he was ”so deeply touched” by all the condolences and messages of support he and his family had been sent.

His Majesty added that he and Queen Camilla were ”moved beyond measure” by all those who had come to pay their respects to his late mother.

The full statement from King Charles III reads:

”Over the last ten days, my wife and I have been so deeply touched by the many messages of condolence and support we have received from this country and across the world.

In London, Edinburgh, Hillsborough and Cardiff we were moved beyond measure by everyone who took the trouble to come and pay their respects to the lifelong service of my dear mother, The late Queen.

As we all prepare to say our last farewell, I wanted simply to take this opportunity to say thank you to all those countless people who have been such a support and comfort to my Family and myself in this time of grief.”

The State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II takes place at 11am on Monday September 19th 2022. Her Late Majesty died at Balmoral on September 8th 2022. She had reigned for 70 years.
