King Charles III has led the Royal Family at the annual Festival of Remembrance in London.
His Majesty looked emotional as a video tribute to Queen Elizabeth II was played, marking her long life of service to the Armed Forces.
The Princess Royal and the Earl of Wessex were also present to see the tribute which also included footage of Her Late Majesty during her time with the Auxiliary Territorial Service during World War Two. All three siblings appeared moved as the tribute continued and their late mother’s voice rang round the Royal Albert Hall as recordings of her speaking of the contribution the Armed Forces had made were played.
The King led the Royal Family at the service which pays tribute to all military personnel and remembers those who have given their lives for their country.
His Majesty was accompanied by Queen Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales. The Princess Royal was with her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, while the Countess of Wessex accompanied Prince Edward. The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra also attended.
The Royal Family will take part in the Act of Remembrance at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday. King Charles III will lay a wreath on behalf of the nation.
