The Duchess of Cambridge will guest edit The Huffington Post UK for a day in the middle of February, Kensington Palace have announced.
The Duchess will become editor for the day to raise awareness of children’s mental health issues, something that she is very passionate about.
When she is editor, Kate will arrange for leading figures from across the mental health sector to contribute to the site, as well as young people, parents and teachers.
A Kensington Palace spokesperson said: “The Duchess of Cambridge has made the mental health of young children a key focus of her work in recent years. She is delighted that the Huffington Post will help put a spotlight on this important issue.
“We look forward to welcoming the Huffington Post team to Kensington Palace next month.”
Huffington Post UK’s Editor-in-Chief Stephen Hull shared his excitement at the news, saying: “We are thrilled that the Duchess of Cambridge is joining the HuffPost UK team for a day as a guest editor. Dealing with mental health issues has been a major editorial focus for us and I’m very excited to be working together on such an important project.”
Kate is patron of many mental health charities, including Place2Be which provides mental health and emotional support services in schools, helping over 67,000 school children in Britain.
She has also raised the topic children’s mental health very publicly before, having made her first public speech last year about the issue.
It is believed that the Duchess of Cambridge is the first person to guest edit the whole of The Huffington Post UK.
There have been some eyebrows raised on social media as to why the Duchess has chosen to guest edit The Huffington Post, as it has previously published material such as paparazzi pictures of celebrities that Kate advocates against.

I wouldn’t think for one second she’s against paparazzi pictures. Intrusive photos yes, but in general no I don’t think she is oppossed and I don’t recall Huffpost every publishing intrusive photos.
