Details released for Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations

Tickets for the party of the year, marking the Queen’s 90th birthday in The Mall, will cost £150 each, her grandson has announced.

The hotly contested tickets to attend The Mall street party will be released into a ballot next month, with around 1000 tickets being available to the public.

Over 9,000 other people will attend the event who represent organisations with close ties to Her Majesty.

The Queen’s 90th birthday promises to be the royal occasion of the year, with parties expected to be held all around the globe.

The Queen celebrates two birthdays each year. Her actual birthday, the day she was born, is on 21st April, but her official birthday is always on a Saturday in June.

The Patrons Lunch was organized by Peter Phillips, in his role as director of Sports and Entertainment Ltd.

The lucky guests will enjoy hampers of food at tables set up in the famous thoroughfare.

Mr Phillips said that The Queen thinks the celebrations are a ‘great idea’ and that she is rather excited by the occasion.

He said: “There’s a huge amount of pride, the fact that I’m able to celebrate, to put something on, to put a celebration on which ultimately she appreciates, she enjoys and she thinks is a great idea.”

He also emphasized that the celebrations were a none profit event and despite the costs involved, corporate partners have provided funding for the costs.

At the street party, The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will take to the stage where they will listen to speeches in tribute to Her Majesty and her longevity.

Other members of the royal family are also expected to attend, including the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry.

If you are interested in attending the once in a lifetime celebration, a ballot will open to the public in February where around 1,000 tickets will be on offer. If you are lucky enough to be allocated a ticket, they can then be purchased on the event’s website.
