The Queen has taken decisive action in preventing the Duke of York and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from appearing on the Buckingham Palace balcony during her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Amidst the continuing family fall-outs, Her Majesty has ruled that only working members of her family will appear alongside her on the balcony overlooking The Mall.
In a statement, Buckingham Palace says the 96-year-old monarch only wants “working royals” who carry out official royal duties on the balcony with their children.
The MailOnline additionally reports that Her Majesty is keen to include Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie in every other aspect of her Jubilee.
Shortly after the announcement on the balcony arrangements was made public, Harry and Meghan revealed that they and their children are coming to London in June for the celebrations.
At the end of March, The Royal Family attracted controversy after Prince Andrew was given a prominent role alongside his mother at Prince Philip’s memorial service.
Whereas Harry & Meghan are expected to join in other aspects of the Jubilee celebrations, it is unclear how much of a public role Andrew will have, if any at all.
Members of The Royal Family to appear on the balcony:
- The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall
- The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children
- The Earl and Countess of Wessex and their children
- The Princess Royal and Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence
- The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester
- The Duke of Kent
- Princess Alexandra
