A new royal baby for Sweden

The Swedish Royal Court has announced that Princess Sofia is expecting her fourth child with Prince Carl Philip.

In a brief statement shared on the Swedish Royal Family’s website and social media accounts, the couple confirmed that their baby is due in February 2025.

They also revealed that “During the autumn, no changes are expected in Princess Sofia’s official program.”

The couple, who have been married since 2015, have three sons together already: Prince Alexander, born in 2016; Prince Gabriel, born in 2017; and Prince Julian, born in 2021.

The news comes days before the royal couple are due to visit Värmland, Prince Carl Philip’s duchy from 4-5 September.

The couple will spend time in Arvika, Eda and Karlstad over a two-day period, with a programme focused on “resilience and sustainable change,” according to the county’s official website.
