Crown Prince Christian celebrated a banner day for the Danish Paralympians in Paris on Monday.
The future king of Denmark attended several events, including table tennis and wheelchair rugby.
Crown Prince Christian also popped in to visit the Danish Paralympians at their Paralympics Village in the northern part of Paris.
According to the Danish Royal Court, the future king visited over the lunch break to dine with the athletes and tour the facilities. Crown Prince Christian met with Alexander Hillhouse, a swimmer who won gold in the 100m butterfly, and Daniel Wagner, who won silver in long jump.
On social media, the Court wrote: “During the visit, His Royal Highness gained insight into the everyday life of the athletes during the [Paralympics], which in addition to matches and hard training also offers community and unity among the athletes.”
Denmark’s Paralympics Team comprises 32 athletes. So far, they have won four medals: one gold, one silver and two bronze.
This isn’t Crown Prince Christian’s first popover to Paris this summer. He joined his father for a day of sports near the end of the Summer Olympics earlier in August. The pair watched the Danish Olympians medal in handball.
The future king’s latest visit to Paris comes on the heels of the announcement that he will undertake an extended stay in East Africa from Thursday through to December.
The Danish Royal Court shared: “The Crown Prince will be involved in the day-to-day running of two farms, which will, among other things, involve practical and administrative tasks as well as giving the Crown Prince an insight into local nature conservation. The plan is for the Crown Prince to return to Denmark in December.”
Crown Prince Christian graduated from secondary school earlier this summer, and at the time he said his future plans would involve travel and preparing for his royal duties.
Crown Prince Christian and his parents said in the statement that the young royal’s visit to East Africa is a private trip and no further details of his stay will be publicised.
