London Bridge is closed this evening following a ‘major police incident’ in which armed officers are in attendance.
Eyewitnesses report that a car hit around a dozen pedestrians on the bridge.
London Bridge Station is closed and people have been told to avoid the area.
Police helicopters and boats are also at the scene. It is understood the police boats are searching for anybody who might have fallen into the river.
The famous landmark is situated on the River Thames, and is around three miles away from Buckingham Palace.
There is no suggestion at this stage that the incident is terror related, although security will no doubt be reviewed at Buckingham Palace, Downing Street and other places of significance.
I’m really confused by why this is on a royal blog when it has nothing to do with royalty. This should be on general news sites.
