The Swedish Royal Court has revealed who Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia have selected as godparents for their youngest son, Prince Julian. As expected, the royals chose close friends and family to sponsor their son, who was born on 26 March.
The couple have chosen Johan Andersson, Stina Andersson, Patrick Sommerlath, Jacob Högfeldt and Frida Vesterberg to act as sponsors to their youngest son.
Prince Julian will be christened tomorrow in a noon ceremony at the Royal Chapel of Drottningholm Palace – the same location as his older brothers’ christenings. He will be dressed in the Swedish Royal Family’s traditional christening gown, which will have his name and baptism date engraved on the cape after the ceremony.
King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill are confirmed to attend alongside Julian and his parents. It is expected that Julian’s older brothers, Princes Alexander and Gabriel, will also be in the congeration, as will the two children of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar.
The baptism will not air live on SVT like the ceremonies of his family members; instead, SVT will record the service and air a summary on Sunday.
Official photos from the ceremony will be released in the days following the service.
