Queen Letizia is Spain’s biggest cheerleader at the 2024 Paris Olympics

The Spanish Royal Family is fully committed to supporting their country’s athletes for the 2024 Summer Olympics as there has been at least one member of the family in Paris for almost all of the Games. Queen Letizia returned to Paris on Tuesday, 30 July and has stayed busy.

On Thursday, 1 August, Queen Letizia was able to support many Spanish athletes in their competitions. She started the day by watching Adel Mechaal, Mario Garcia and Ignacio Fontes compete in the Men’s 1500 metre run. Although none qualified directly for their semi-final, they will be able to run again in the repechage round, a second chase for runners to qualify.

The Spanish Queen was able to chat with Mechaal, Garcia, and Fontes after their run.

She made another visit to the Olympic Village where she once again chatted with visitors and volunteers. Letizia continues to be a good sport at the Games, taking selfies with visitors throughout.

On Friday, 2 August, it was back to athletics to watch both the Spanish women and men compete.

Queen Letizia also caught some action on the court as the Spanish women’s team faced Canada in women’s 3×3 basketball, where Spain was able to clinch a 22-20 victory.
