Princess Benedikte makes her first Olympic appearance in Paris

Princess Benedikte of Denmark has arrived in Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games and immediately jumped into the spirit of the Games.

On Thursday, 1 August, Princess Benedikte was at the Danish House on the Champs-Élysées Avenue for a reception celebrating Danish athletes at the Olympics

The princess was able to chat with athletes from several different sports about their Olympic experiences so far in Paris. The Danish Royal Family released several photos on Instagram showing that Benedikte looked thrilled to be able to meet everyone.

King Frederik and Queen Mary were in Paris for the pre-Games Gala at the Louvre Museum and the Opening Ceremonies, as well as a few days of competitions. Queen Mary did return to Paris this week, and on Wednesday was able to see the Danish dressage team compete.

Princess Benedikte is one of the younger sisters of Queen Margrethe, and is King Frederik’s aunt. She is currently tenth in line for the Danish throne and will sometimes carry out official engagements on behalf of the Danish monarch.
