King Felipe of Spain continues to test positive for COVID-19.
The King took another PCR test on Tuesday, 15 February, and it came back positive.
Casa Real has said His Majesty’s schedule for the rest of the week has been cleared. They said that the King is doing well and has no symptoms.
King Felipe originally tested positive on 9 February with mild symptoms and entered into seven days of quarantine. He was supposed to exit quarantine on 15 February, so he took another COVID test to see if he was allowed out of isolation. Unfortunately, the test was positive, meaning the King must stay in quarantine.
Another test will be taken in the coming days.
His Majesty has continued to perform institutional duties from Zarzuela Palace during his quarantine.
Queen Letizia and Infanta Sofía, 14, had no symptoms, and both tested negative. The King and Queen’s elder daughter, Leonor, Princess of Asturias, 16, is in school in Wales and therefore was not exposed.
On 11 February, Queen Letizia provided an update on King Felipe’s health, telling the press that her husband was doing well.
King Felipe tested positive the same day as Queen Margrethe of Denmark. The following day, the Prince of Wales tested positive; he had previously had the virus in 2020. His wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, also tested positive.
