The daughter and older child of Norway’s monarch, Princess Märtha Louise, has had some busy months. Since she announced her relationship with the controversial American Shaman Durek Veret, she has been in the spotlight of all newspapers and magazines in Norway and the world. Now, Christmas is here, and hopefully, things are going to be a bit quieter for all of them.
Ari Behn, the former husband of Princess Märtha Louise, has revealed to the Norwegian press that he will celebrate Christmas this year with his former wife. He also said that Shaman Durek Veret may visit them.
“I’m looking forward to Christmas,” said Ari Behn to the Norwegian magazine “Her og Nå”. On the question whether the Princess’s new boyfriend, Durek Verrett, will attend the celebration, Mr Behn said: “It is quite possible he will celebrate with us, we have to see.”
Princess Märtha Louise and Ari Behn were married for 14 years and have three children together. Despite a tough and public divorce, they have managed to maintain a good friendship. Ari Behn has praised Princess Märtha Louise on their good parenting cooperation to the press.
The family is to celebrate Christmas at Kongsseteren cabin north of Oslo alongside the King and Queen. It is believed that Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and their children will celebrate Christmas in Uvdal.
Ari Behn is a Norwegian author. He has written three novels, two collections of short stories and a book about his wedding. His 1999 short stories collection sold 100,000 copies and received several favourable reviews. He was married to Princess Märtha Louise from 2002 to 2017.
When the two went their separate ways in 2017, Princess Märtha Louise said: “Life does not always go smoothly. Both Ari and I have experienced this. Most clearly, life has made some antics that we had never envisaged. These days we were mainly apart. We are ending the marriage but we are remaining together in parenthood.”
