Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg celebrate 500th anniversary of Château de Chambord

Their Royal Highnesses Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg celebrated the 500th anniversary of the Château de Chambord on Saturday in France by attending a gala event.

After the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess’s arrival, they enjoyed drinks in the French garden before taking a private tour of the exhibit “Chambord 1519-2019: utopia at work.” They were guided on their tour by the display’s curators, Dominique Perrault and Roland Schaer.

Their Royal Highnesses were also present for the opening of the “Decoration of the Itinerant Court.”

The Château de Chambord, one of the most recognisable chateaus in the world due to its French Renaissance architecture, is located in Chambord, Loir-et-Cher, France. Construction began in 1519 on the orders of King Francis I of France so he could use it as a hunting lodge.
