The beloved dog of a Thai princess went missing this past week and an extensive police search took place to find the royal pup.
Princess Siribhachudabhorn, the daughter of Princess Chulabhorn and niece to King Rama X, posted on her Facebook page about her missing dog, Khun Hom Nuan, on the afternoon of 21 June.
The “white Thai native” dog went missing from a dog training centre at an air force base. The distraught royal posted a plea for help on the social networking site, and within minutes, the police were actively searching for the dog through CCTV footage and on the ground.
After a five hour search, the Bhuping police found Khun Hom Nuan at a viewpoint at Wat Phra That Doi Suthep.
Princess Siribhachudabhorn was grateful for all those who helped find her dog and thanked over 60 groups on her Facebook for their assistance in a video message.
She said: “I have seen the kindness of people who love animals, and I am very grateful. I want to let everyone know that I feel really grateful as the mother of Hom Nuan that she got to come home today. I didn’t think I would get her back and I am very grateful.”
The royal added that people could post on her page if there was a way that she could repay them in the future for helping her find her dog.
Khun Hom Nuan did sustain a minor injury to her neck, but the Princess has said the dog is recovering well.
