As King Charles and Queen Camilla return to their slate of engagements following their summer break at Balmoral Castle, Buckingham Palace has also confirmed all upcoming royal tours and state visits for the British royals.
On Thursday, the Palace shared that King Charles and Queen Camilla will host the Sultan of Oman, Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, for a state visit between 20-22 October. The royals will host the Sultan at Windsor Castle.
King Charles previously welcomed Sultan Haitham bin Tarik at Windsor Castle last summer for a private tea.
The last Omani state visit to the United Kingdom occurred in March 1982.
King Charles and Queen Camilla will then jet off for their own autumn tour following the Omani state visit.
Buckingham Palace previously announced that King Charles will visit The Bahamas and Guyana, and that Queen Camilla will join her husband for a royal visit to Antigua and Barbuda to coincide with the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings in St. John’s.
In Guyana, King Charles will mark 60 years of bilateral relations between the country and the United Kingdom; his visits to The Bahamas and Antigua and Barbuda, where he is head of state, will be his first as monarch.
The theme of CHOGM 2026 is ‘Accelerating Partnerships and Investment for a Prosperous Commonwealth’.
According to CHOGM 2026’s official website, 56 Commonwealth countries will be represented at the meetings, “focusing on strengthening collaboration, unlocking sustainable investment and supporting inclusive growth” between 1-4 November.
CHOGM has taken place every second year since 1971 and allows Commonwealth countries to meet under a themed summit to discuss partnerships and other opportunities and concerns.
This will be King Charles’s third CHOGM as head of the Commonwealth; he attended his first in London in 2023 to coincide with his coronation—it was a special meeting of government leaders at the same time—and in 2024, he attended the meetings in Apia, Samoa.
King Charles and Queen Camilla will undertake their autumn tour between 27 October and 4 November.
