Monaco’s Princely Family attends opening of new luxury complex in Monte Carlo

Prince Albert, Princess Charlene and their twins, Princess Gabriella and Hereditary Prince Jacques, opened a new luxury complex in Monaco on Friday, 22 February.

The One Monte-Carlo complex spent four years under construction, though the project was announced in September 2012. It boasts 60,000 square-metres with seven buildings, 37 luxury apartments, offices and meeting space and boards the Casino de Monte Carlo.

In total, 23 luxury brands will be housed in the complex, which boasts views of the sea, the Prince’s Palace of Monaco, the casino, and various gardens.

The One Monte-Carlo complex was designed by Rogers Stirk Harbor + Partners in association with Alexandre Giraldi.

Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, the four-year-old twins of Prince Albert and Princess Charlene, walked the red carpet with their parents in stylish leather jackets and sunglasses.

Pierre Casiraghi, the youngest son of Princess Caroline (Prince Albert’s older sister), also joined the Princely Family for the opening.

Princess Charlene was also revealed to have had a walk named after her called the Promenade Princesse Charlene, which is lined with palm trees and is perpendicular to the Avenue des Beaux-Arts

The family posed in front of a plaque marking their visit which reads, translated into English: “Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene opened the promenade that bears her name on the 22nd of February 2019 in the presence of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II.”

It’s been a busy month for the twins. Earlier in the month, they joined Princess Charlene for their first visit to Africa.

Princess Charlene posted a video on her official Instagram account showing them on a safari.

They were accompanying their mother for a visit to her Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation to attend the Quellé Midmar Mile – one of the world’s largest open water swimming events, and one that Princess Charlene has participated in herself.
