Princess Beatrice of York attended the National Review of The Queen’s Scouts at Windsor Castle on Sunday.
Her Royal Highness rubbed shoulders with television royalty as she was joined by adventurer and television presenter, Bear Grylls, who is The Scout Association’s Cheif Scout.
Princess Beatrice met Scouts from around the Commonwealth who have achieved the Queen’s Scout award.
This was the 29-year-old royal’s first time at the event which is held at Windsor Castle annually. A member of The Royal Family usually attends to show their support. In previous years the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince of Wales were present.
Beatrice’s mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, took to Twitter to praise her daughter for her part in the day.
Sarah Ferguson wrote: “Proud of my daughter @yorkiebea and her honouring The Scouts at their parade at Windsor Castle.”
Bear Grylls replied to Sarah’s tweet saying: “Ah she was amazing and Scouts all across the country are so grateful for her time and care and support. Today was special.”
The Queen was also at Windsor Castle on Sunday, although she did not attend the Scouts engagement, instead opting to officially start off the London Marathon.
The 92-year-old Monarch started the race by pressing a button from Great Windsor Park where Her Majesty is staying for the weekend.
At 10:00am, The Queen’s face was broadcast on the big screens at the official start of the marathon in Blackheath, London.
Upon the press of a button, she sent around 40,000 runners on their way for the 26.2-mile trip to the finish on The Mall.
