Prince & Princess of Wales

The Princess of Wales’s condition is ‘non-cancerous’

The Princess of Wales’s admittance to hospital is ‘non-cancerous’ according to royal sources.

Her Royal Highness was admitted to The London Clinic on Tuesday for major abdominal surgery.

The Princess has expressed her desires for her medical information to be kept private, however, royal reporters have been advised that it is not cancer.

Catherine will now require between 10-14 days of hospital recovery before going home to continue to rest from there.

Kensington Palace shared that this will mean the Princess is unlikely to return to public engagements before Easter.

According to a spokesperson, Catherine “appreciates the interest this statement will generate” and hopes that the public “will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remain private.”

Kensington Palace will only provide updates on the Princess’s recovery when there is significant news to share.

The Prince of Wales is understood to be curtailing his own set of engagements to better care for Catherine and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Kensington Palace also conveyed Catherine’s apologies for having to postpone upcoming engagements and added that “she looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible.”
