Prince & Princess of Wales

The Prince and Princess of Wales visit Sandringham to meet well-wishers and view floral tributes

The Prince and Princess of Wales visited Sandringham on Thursday, September 15, to view the many thousands of floral tributes left in memory of Queen Elizabeth II.

As has been the case at all of the Royal Residences, people have been leaving flowers at the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk – the home where The Queen and her family stayed each Christmas and Easter.

Their Royal Highnesses spent around 10 minutes viewing the flowers, before spending a further 45 minutes meeting members of the public who had gathered at the entrance to the estate.

The couple spoke to people of all ages who had gathered outside the Norwich Gates, with the Princess being presented with many bouquets of flowers.

Prince William and Catherine, who now live in Windsor, are the first royals to view the messages left by people at the Norfolk residence.

Similar scenes have taken place at royal residences across the nation, with the Duke & Duchess of Sussex joining Prince William and Catherine for a walkabout at Windsor Castle over the weekend.

William and Catherine were granted the titles of Prince and Princess of Wales after their father assumed the throne.

King Charles announced the news in his address to the nation the day after his mother’s death.

It is expected that Prince William’s investiture as Prince of Wales will take place at an appropriate time in the future.
