After Prince Philip’s visit to Cornwall recently, it seems The Duke enjoyed his time at the National Lobster Hatchery so much, he helped his one year old great-grandson to adopt a crustacean.
It was on the National Lobster Hatchery’s Facebook page that the adoption was revealed, stating that the 3rd-in-line had received his ‘Adopt-a-Lobster’ certificate. It costs just £2.50 to adopt the marine creature, and the adoptive family receives updates about the lobster’s progress.
The Hatchery’s post read: “The National Lobster Hatchery is delighted to hear (via Buckingham Palace I may add!) that not only did HRH Prince Philip very much enjoy his visit to the hatchery, but also that little Prince George’s ‘Adopt a Lobster’ certificate has been received by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.”
The group have tried to capitalise on their Royal link: “One lucky little lobster here has therefore been adopted by Royalty! You too can be the proud adopter of a baby lobster, just visit our website for details.” We do not know if the crustacean has been named, nor if the adoption was a gift from The Duke to The Prince.]]>
