No longer the Royal Trio but now the Fab Four, Meghan Markle will be making her first joint appearance with her husband-to-be, Prince Harry and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at the end of the month for the first-ever Royal Foundation Forum.
Announcing the news, Kensington Palace said: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle will take part in the first annual Royal Foundation Forum on Wednesday 28th February. Under the theme ‘Making a Difference Together,’ the event will showcase the programmes run or initiated by The Royal Foundation, including @heads_together, @WeAreInvictus and @united4wildlife. TRH and Ms. Markle will appear on stage together to discuss why The Royal Foundation was set up, the projects they are currently working on, and their ambitions for the future.”
The forum held on 28 February will give Meghan a chance to see the organisation in which she formally becomes the fourth patron of on her wedding day in May.
The event next week may even allow Meghan to express which passions she hopes to focus on as a patron.
The four royals first all appeared side-by-side on Christmas morning as they walked to church together.
Since announcing their engagement at the end of November, Meghan has accompanied Prince Harry on a number of engagements including trips to Wales and Scotland.
While in Edinburgh, Sarah Coronado, a student at the University of Edinburgh who met the couple later told the BBC that: “seeing the couple is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We don’t have these visits in Mexico or my hometown of Monterey.”
“I also think Meghan is a role model, she’s not just a pretty face. I think she’s going to change the face of the monarchy.”
The Royal Foundation was first set up by Princes William and Harry in 2009 and became fully operational in 2011 with the Duchess of Cambridge also becoming a patron. The Royal Foundation hopes to “become a leading philanthropic investor.”
