Princess Margaret was one of the most fashionable royals of the 20th century and her tiaras helped to cement her glamorous role. An unusual and striking turquoise Tiara is one of those jewels.
Queen Mary originally bought this diamond and Persian turquoise tiara as part of a set from Garrard; the set also included a necklace, a brooch, and earrings. She had an upper row of diamonds removed, altering the original kokoshnik design.

King George V and Queen Mary gave the turquoise tiara and set to Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon when she married their second son, Albert, the Duke of York, in 1923.
In 1951, the now Queen Elizabeth gave the turquoise parure to her younger daughter, Princess Margaret, as a 21st birthday present.

Notably, this tiara was not sold with her estate after her March 2022 passing, so it may be in the vaults and may still be worn at a royal event again.
