Royal visits for Platinum Jubilee revealed just days before celebrations begin

Details of three major royal visits across the UK to mark the Platinum Jubilee have been shared just days before the celebratory weekend gets under way.

The Princess Royal will visit Edinburgh on June 3 where she will meet representatives of several of The Queen’s and her own patronages in a special ceremony on board the flight deck of HMS Albion.

Princess Anne, who will be accompanied by her husband Tim Laurence, will arrive on board to a guard of honour before attending the reception. They will also visit Edinburgh Zoo where the Princess will join a children’s group as they learn about wildlife in the Rainforest Room. She will also see the penguins at the zoon as part of her Jubilee visit.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge head to Cardiff on day three of the Jubilee weekend. On June 4, the couple will be at Cardiff Castle where they will meet performers and crew involved in the Jubilee concert taking place there that afternoon. Among the stars lined up for the show are Bonnie Tyler and Owain Wynn Evans.

William and Kate are also set to help with some of the final preparations for the show which is hosted by Aled Jones and Shan Cothi.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex travel to Northern Ireland on June 4 for two engagements which will see them join members of the public as they celebrate the Queen’s reign as well as the stories of their local communities over the past 70 years.

The UK visits are part of the celebratory weekend marking the Platinum Jubilee which begins on June 2 with Trooping the Colour. The Royal Family attends at Service of Thanksgiving for The Queen’s reign on June 3 while Princess Anne leads the royal party at the Epsom Derby on June 4. There’s also expected to be a large royal turnout for the Platinum Party at the Palace on the evening of June 4 and at the Platinum Pageant on June 5. The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will also attend a Big Jubilee Lunch in London as the Platinum celebrations come to an end while it’s reported that the festivities will finish with a balcony appearance by The Queen, the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge and Prince George.

Royal Central will bring you full coverage of all the Jubilee events as they happen.
