Buckingham Palace has announced that The Queen will not a lay a wreath at the Cenotaph during the Remembrance Sunday commemorations this year.
In a significant move, the Palace say Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh will watch proceedings from a balcony.
The Prince of Wales will lay a wreath on behalf of his mother.
The decision has likely been made due to Her Majesty’s advancing age.
She has only missed laying a wreath at the Cenotaph six times in her reign. On four of those occasions she was on tour. The other two times she was pregnant.
