Princess Eugenie shared a touching birthday message to her mother Sarah, Duchess of York, who turned 61 today.
The Princess writes: “Happy Birthday to my dear mumsy… You are one of a kind. There were too many pictures to choose from that show how completely unique you are.” Eugenie included many candid photos of her mother, including a childhood photo taken in 1992 with Princess Beatrice.
Sarah married Prince Andrew in 1986 and divorced ten years later. The Duchess of York has remained on good terms with Prince Andrew since their divorce. There have been persistent rumors that they may be back together, though it has not been confirmed by any of the Yorks. But as Princess Eugenie once said, “they are the best divorced couple I know!”
The Duchess of York has been involved in numerous charities since her divorce, including CARE International, The Teenage Cancer Trust, Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, and the Motor Neurone Disease Association. In June 2020, she launched a new international charity organization called Sarah’s Trust. Sarah’s Trust is focused on responding to the coronavirus pandemic by supporting NHS frontline workers as well as care home and hospice workers.
