“Princess Diana” goes viral on Twitter because of BTS fan theory

Fans of South Korean boyband BTS have come up with a wild theory that connects their youngest member to the late Diana, Princess of Wales.

Some fans of the KPOP band, dubbed Army, have taken to Twitter with their theory that Jungkook is Diana reincarnated. Why? Because he was born the day after she died in a Paris car crash in 1997. Another fan added that the pair both have the same personality type.

Diana, Princess of Wales, died in a Paris car crash after being chased by paparazzi on 31 August 1997. The youngest member of BTS was born the following day. Fans even discussed the time difference and if her death in Paris at approximately 4:00 am Parisian time meant that she could have been reincarnated in South Korea.

In all, the post in question has garnered 59,000 likes, thousands of retweets and many reactions. It even had “Princess Diana” trending on Twitter, leading many (including myself) to be very confused when clicking the “What’s Happening” tab.

Others later began sharing photos of the late royal side by side with the Korean celebrity and saying that Diana would have been a fan of BTS had she still been alive.

While some fans have called the reincarnation theory convincing, most others have called it out for its absurdity. One person said they hope the band comes out with a new album soon because ‘Army’ are “beginning to lose their minds.” Another joked that if this was true, then they were Princess Margaret.

Another called it out for being disrespectful and that, “we should just leave her death out of the conversation entirely .. it’s just disrespectful.”

Diana has been connected to many celebrities, but this might be the most insane connection created.

While the theory is clearly incorrect, it has provided some interesting entertainment and a connection between two very different worlds that no one saw coming.
