Lady Louise joins the Earl and Countess of Wessex to see tributes to Prince Philip

The Wessexes view flowers in memory of Prince Philip at Windsor Castle

The Duke of Edinburgh’s youngest granddaughter, Lady Louise Mountbatten, has joined her parents as they viewed some of the thousands of tributes left in memory of Prince Philip at Windsor.

Lady Louise, 17, walked with Edward and Sophie through the precincts of Windsor Castle where the bouquets and posies have been placed after members of the public left them outside the walls in honour of the Duke of Edinburgh.

They also saw commemorations for Philip from some of the many organisations and charities with which he was associated. The three paused to read some of the cards and messages for the Duke who passed away on April 9th at Windsor at the age of 99.

The flowers are being moved inside the Castle during the period of National Mourning. The Royal Family has asked people not to leave tributes in person at royal residences and instead consider making donations to charity in memory of the Duke. However, they have said they are deeply touched by the tributes being paid to Philip.

The Wessexes were in Windsor just hours ahead of the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral which takes place on April 17th at St. George’s Chapel. The service starts at 3pm – details of coverage on TV channels around the world can be found on our site.
