Lady Hussey willing to make a ‘personal apology’ to Ngozi Fulani if it would be welcomed

Lady Susan Hussey is eager to make a personal apology to Ngozi Fulani after repeatedly asking where she was “really” from during a reception hosted at Buckingham Palace last week.

According to BBC News, Lady Hussey, who had served the royal household for over 60 years, remains ‘willing to make a personal apology’ should it be welcomed by Ms Fulani.

Lady Hussey repeatedly questioned Ms Fulani’s background during a reception at the palace, something she later described as being like “an interrogation”.

Lady Hussey has since left her honorary role as Lady of the Household and has offered her “profound apologies” in a statement released by Buckingham Palace.

In the statement, Buckingham Palace said ”We take this incident extremely seriously and have investigated immediately to establish the full details. In this instance, unacceptable and deeply regrettable remarks have been made.”

The Palace added ”the individual concerned would like to express her profound apologies for the hurt caused and has stepped aside from her honorary role with immediate effect.”

The statement concluded ”all members of the Household are being reminded of the diversity and inclusivity policies which they are required to uphold at all times.”
