Kate’s curtsey for Queen Camilla on a night of royal unity

The Princess of Wales welcomed King Charles III and Queen Camilla to Westminster Abbey for the Christmas service she had organised with curtsies.

The Princess had arrived at the Abbey ahead of the rest of the Royal Family to put the final touches to the ceremony which she has been instrumental in pulling together to show support for those who help their local communities. The Prince of Wales arrived later with their two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, and all four were on hand to welcome Their Majesties just before the service started.

ITV still/ fair use

King Charles kissed his daughter in law on both cheeks before the Princess of Wales curtsied to him. The Princess then gave another curtsey to Queen Camilla.

The King looked very happy to see George and Charlotte, who both got kisses on the cheeks from ‘Grandpapa Wales’ as they always called him. There was a warm greeting, too, between His Majesty and The Prince of Wales.

The meeting came just hours after the release of the latest part of the Netflix documentary on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The Royal Family was out in force for the carol service which also paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II and her life of duty.

The ceremony will be shown on ITV1 on Christmas Eve.
