Harry & Meghan arrive hand-in-hand at the Endeavour Fund Awards to celebrate veterans

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex honoured the inspiring accomplishments of sick and wounded veterans tonight as they attended the fourth annual Endeavour Fund Awards.

Held at London’s Drapers’ Hall, the awards celebrate those veterans who have excelled in sport or adventure pursuits despite injuries or illnesses. This is the second year the Sussexes have attended as a couple; the 2018 event marked Meghan’s first formal royal engagement.

Arriving hand-in-hand, the Duke and Duchess walked tonight’s red carpet with Meghan sporting a crisp white blouse and black skirt by her wedding dress designer, Claire Waight Keller for Givenchy. She added statement heels by another favourite brand, Aquazzura.

Both of the Sussexes expressed their admiration for the nominees while presenting awards at this evening’s ceremony.

“Your stories and achievements have been nothing short of extraordinary,” Prince Harry said. “The resilience, determination and strength you have displayed in your careers, and over the past year with The Endeavour Fund have been an inspiration to all of us here tonight, and most importantly your families and everyone who looks up to you.”

Meghan thanked the nominees for showing others what could be done in the face of adversity. “…what you are doing is inspiring so many people, so thank you from all of us for being that inspiration.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex chaired the judging panel that decided the final winners for each of the events three awards, and they met with the nine finalists during a reception prior to the awards ceremony.

The Endeavour Fund was created in 2012 and is led by the Duke of Sussex as part of The Royal Foundation. The fund supports organisations that aid ex-service members in acclimating to post-military life through sport and adventure challenges such as climbing, sailing, skiing, cycling, and scuba diving.

One of the goals of The Endeavor Fund is for veterans to “use adventurous challenges to push the boundaries of what they believed to be possible.”
