Duchess of Cambridge’s letter to EACH released

The Duchess of Cambridge has sent a letter of support to one of her earliest patronages, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), as they continue to work through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kate’s letter reads:

“I am writing to tell you how much I am thinking of all the team at EACH at this unprecedented and hugely challenging time for you all.

“Whether working on the frontline, or behind the scenes, I know you are all doing all you can to be there to support your children and their families who are already suffering so much.

“Whilst of course you have had to suspend some of your care activities, I am heartened that you are still able to provide your core services of end-of-life care and bereavement support.

“This must be a deeply worrying time for all of you. Many staff and volunteers at EACH will no doubt be facing additional pressures as they try to juggle their personal and professional lives.

“Now more than ever, it will be crucial for people to pull together so we can all be better prepared for the times ahead.

“Thank you for all you are doing in these incredibly tough circumstances, and please look after yourselves.”

EACH shared the letter on their Twitter account, writing that it was “a lovely, uplifting message from our Royal Patron to all our staff and volunteers.”

The Duchess became patron of EACH in January 2012; it was one of her first four patronages when she became a member of the Royal Family.

Kate has written letters, as revealed on social media by the respective charities, to Action for Children, Evelina London’s Children’s Hospital, and Action on Addiction during the COVID-19 crisis.

On Wednesday, the Cambridges helped launch Our Frontline, a round-the-clock mental health support hub for first responders, key workers, and frontline workers to discuss and manage their health throughout the pandemic.
