Queen Camilla joins discussions on tackling domestic violence

Th Queen has heard about work going on to tackle domestic violence in Australia.

Queen Camilla joined a discussion at Government House on the issue during her time in Canberra.

Supporting victims of domestic abuse is one of The Queen’s most important areas of work.

During the talks, Her Majesty was given an outline of how violence affects people, especially women, in their homes.

The Australian Institute of Criminology’s latest research shows that a third of women have experienced physical violence and one in five has been the victim of sexual violence.

The Queen was involved in a discussion about the impact of violence and what is being done to tackle it.

Her Majesty is patron of several organisations working with victims of abuse and those supporting them.
