The Duchess of Cambridge recorded a podcast with Happy Mum Happy Baby during which she spoke of moments in the countryside with her daughter Princess Charlotte. She has now released the photo of which she spoke during the podcast of Princess Charlotte smelling a bluebell.
“I have this one photo of Charlotte smelling a bluebell and it really – for me – moments like that mean so much to me as a parent and I try every day to put moments like that in, even if they are small, even if we – I – don’t have time, but that in an ideal world is what I would like to do, sort of create relationships and happy environments and experiences.”
The photo was taken at Amner Hall last spring by the Duchess of Cambridge.
Catherine met the parenting podcaster last month at the launch of her landmark 5 Big Questions on the Under Fives in Birmingham, and the two sat down to talk about everything from the survey to parenting and their experiences with early years and as mothers of three children. “What we’re doing with the survey is asking people—what is it that matters for them in raising their children today. It’s going to take a long time–I’m talking about a generational change–but hopefully this is the first small step: to start a conversation around the importance of Early Childhood Development. It’s not just about happy, healthy children. This is for lifelong consequences and outcomes.”
