Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is dead

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, is dead.

Her Majesty passed away peacefully at Balmoral Castle on September 8th 2022.

Members of her family, including her eldest son, Charles, were with her at the time. He now succeeds his mother as king.

In a short statement, Buckingham Palace said ”The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”

The Queen had earlier been advised to rest by her doctors. Shortly after noon on September 8th 2022, Buckingham Palace issued a statement saying that Her Majesty’s medical team had expressed ‘’concerns for her health.’’

No cause of death has been confirmed.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II reigned for 70 years and is the longest ruling Monarch in British history.

The Queen is dead, long live The King.
