Zara Tindall takes aim at Paris 2024 as she hopes to compete at another Olympic Games

Zara Tindall is hoping to have another opportunity to compete at the Olympic Games as she tries to find the right horse to take her to Paris.

Already an Olympic silver medalist, Zara is hoping she can once again represent Great Britain in equestrianism on the world stage.

In a wide ranging interview with Vogue Australia, Princess Anne’s daughter revealed that she was back in training, and was trying to find the right horse to take her to the 2024 games.

However, Zara has fewer horses now than she did back in 2012 when she won her silver medal in London, and she also has more family responsibilities, juggling her training with her busy schedule as a mother of three.

According to Vogue, the 41-year-old is hoping to be able to compete in the Magic Millions showjumping event in 2023 and 2024, before hoping to represent her country at the Olympic Games.

Zara suffered a setback in 2016 when she failed to be selected as a part of Great Britain’s eventing team for the Rio Olympics.

Princess Anne’s daughter managed to achieve the Olympic qualification mark, but was left out of the team on selection grounds.

Likewise, she qualified for both Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008, but an injury to her horse forced her to withdraw from the team on each occasion.

At London 2012, she won silver in the team eventing, with the Princess Royal presenting her daughter with her medal in the ceremony.

Zara followed in her mother’s footsteps, with Princess Anne competing in the 1976 Summer Olympic Games in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
